I changed out the spark plugs & wires on my wife’s ‘02 Explorer today. Not too bad of a job, I just took my time so as not to fuck anything up. My biggest worry was breaking a plug, luckily the all came out without too much a fuss. I gave each a shot of PB Blaster, and that seemed to help. I had to cut the old spark plug wires on the passenger side, as they were routed between the engine and a metal bracket, with no room to fish them or the new wires through. I have no idea what Ford was thinking on that one. The new plug wires had plenty of length on them, so no big deal on re-routing them a bit. Truck runs smoother, I think, and I hope the MPG’s improve as well.
